Family Fun

Today we went out to Grandpa and Gandma Marg's house for a BBQ. We had so much fun and really enjoyed spending time with the family.

Some of the memories that I will cherish is awesome company, great food, beautiful atmoshpere and me making an idiot over myself runing from the bees and ultimately falling! But the most important memory that I will have is that as soon as we got into the car Elyssa said " I had fun with my family". We have no idea how she knew that we were at a family function nor who her family even is as we never mentioned it to her. If must have just felt right to her!

Round 2 begins!

On Wednesday September 5, 2012 I received my medication to begin IVF treatment. I was soo nervous about the medicine and began to go into panic mode when purolator told me that they did not have a refrigerator. As some of this medicine is required to be in the fridge I started making 15 different phone calls thinking that it was garbage. Since not all of the medicine was covered this time I thought that we might have wasted our money. Finally a nurse from the fertility clinic called and said that the ice packs were good for up to three days! I felt a whole lot better after that and a little silly!

And the Gender Is.....

Today we went for our 2nd trimester ultrasound. Because I am 1 day short of 5 months, we are able to see the gender. I have been so excited for today and just want to make sure that everything is still ok. I think that I might have been able to feel it kick once, but to tell you the truth I am not really sure. I had to drink 1 1/2 liters of water 1 1/2 hours before the appointment. I could only get down 1 litre and thank goodness for that ! By the time the appointment came, I REALLY had to go and I was not sure if I was going to make it! Shayne met me there but had to wait in the waiting room for the ultrasound person to do some tests. She told me that " this baby sure moves alot", so I was immediately relieved. Then I was allowed to empty my bladder and Shayne was called in for the results and to see the baby on the ultrasound machine. Well I will tell you that it is one of the most amazing and beautiful things that I have ever seen. It still brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it! The baby is 16 cm long, 11 ounces and a perfect little baby girl! We are so excited and can't wait for a few more months till we can see her!

Oh.....this is getting real now!!

I have had my heart set on a certain type of crib for many years now. It is a convertible crib which can transform from a crib to a toddler bed and also a double bed. I happen to be shopping this weekend and found a sale on baby furniture ( including the crib that I wanted). I told Shayne about it and the next thing you know, we have a crib and the matching change table in the back of the Durango! They did not have the matching dresser so we will have to order it from Sears online. I was not planning on moving any furniture in the baby's room until after Christmas but we are hoping to have the time to put it together next weekend. I am really starting to get excited now!

Brrrrrrr

I cannot believe how cold it has been lately. You would think that we live in the North Pole with Santa! It has been hovering around the -30 mark for quite a few days now. At one point on the weekend Edmonton was the 2nd coldest spot in the entire world. We must all love this city very much!
This is a picture of Shayne just about to take a break from shovelling. He looked so cute with his goatee all white and full of frost. Thanks for shovelling this winter Shayne!

Santa's Letters

Somehow I received my Nephew's and Niece's letters from Santa. It looks like Santa spent alot of time writing these letters so I put them right in their envelopes and delivered them for Santa. I hope that the kids receive them in time!

It's Party Time!!

Today we hosted the Third Family Christmas party for Shayne's side of the family. It sure was alot of work, but worth it. Everyone seemed to have a great time and overall I think that it was a success. I just wish that I had more time and energy to talk more with everyone.

This is Shayne's cousins daughter Ashley opening her gift for the Chinese gift exchange. She chose the present that we bought, so we were glad to see that she liked it because it is so hard to shop for this gift exchange. It was an Oilers scarf with an Andrew Cogliano signed card. These scarfs were sold at an Oilers game and proceeds went to charity. I believe they raised $100,000.00 for charity, so it was a double gift! Also in the picture is Shayne's cousin Stephen and his cousins step daughter Hope.
