Dim Sum

What a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon. Family and delicious food...hmmm..that sounds awesome to me! I have been craving Dim Sum for quite some time and Darlene had mentioned that we should all get together and go. It was so nice to see everyone and we all had a great time listening to Shayne talk! Just kidding Shayne, but you really do talk alot. Good thing that you also have a sense of humor so at least we all got to laugh every once in awhile!

The Downtown Adventure

On Saturday we babysat my niece Izabella and nephew Lukas. We told them that we were going some place that you had to wear a bathing suit. They were pretty excited and full of anticipation. Then when we got close Shayne told them that we were going to the Mayors house and that we were going to play in his swimming pool. They were kind of excited and confused at the same time!

I have never been inside City Hall and I did not realize that it is soo beautiful and quiet in there. Lukas kept telling us to whisper because you are "supposed to be quiet in here".

We played in the water for awhile in the morning, but it was a little chilly. The kids were a little nervous about the water and it took a little convincing to get them in. Eventually Lukas loved to play in the fountains. I told him that we were going under the rainbow so that he would let me take him under. Once Izabella got used to it, she was having a blast playing and did not really want to leave. The only reason that she did was because we told her that there was another surprise.

Then we took the kids for a train ride on the LRT. They really enjoyed it and we aslo got to see the new stop. I cannot wait until it goes all the way to Heritage. It is just to bad that there is not a park and ride. We finished off the day at the Ikea park, where they love to play. Truth be told, I would love to play in there if noone was around!

Frying Pan

This is our BBQ and on Saturday Shayne spent 2 hours putting it together, so it had to be tested out ( and it was our turn to cook). Shayne cooked hamburgers with all of the fixings and potatoes. My Mom gave us one of her cast iron frying pans to use and I will tell you that I have forgotten how good food tastes when it is cooked in those pans! Great job Shayne, everything turned out great!

Soap as Air Freshener

Papa's trailer is full of storage and I am still finding cupboards that I didn't realize that they open. I think that I found the last hidden cupboard this weekend. It was under the fridge! Who would think that there is usable storage there? Among of few other things were these bars of soap again. I found these throughout the trailer so I asked my Mom why Papa had soap everywhere and she said that it was like that in his house too and that it was used as an air freshener. I thought that was a little weird, but this time I decided to go back and smell the cupboard since it probably has not be opened in 2 years. To my surprise it smelled very fresh. I guess that it did work!

Timid Deer

We went camping in Saskatchewan this past weekend again. The weather was not to bad there. It was sunny and I think that it hit around 17 on Saturday. I am always amazed at wildlife. We saw these Deer on the way there and I was surprised how sensitive they are. One little movement closer to them and they are gone.

I Love It

The other day while I was at Shoppers I came across this awesome little guy. I just had to have it so I used the excuse that it was for Shayne! It looks great on our deck and everytime I open the door I get a little smile on my face.

The Mysterious Plants

My Papa passed away last year and before they sold his house my Mom took some plants for us to plant in our backyards. I guess that my Moms did not make it through the winter. I asked her the other day what type of plant it is and she said that she could not remember! So now I have no idea what is growing in my back yard. I know that he had potatoes, so could this be potatoes? Who knows!
