Lonely Treadmill Room

For those of you who do not know, we were storing some furniture for my Uncle in the treadmill room until his new place was finished. This bedroom suite was my Grandmas before she died in August. He set it up really nice as if it was a normal bedroom, but as soon as he left, I closed the door and NEVER opened it again. My Grandma actually died on this bed and I saw her an hour before she died.... in this bed. It haunted me the entire time it was here and I had terrible nightmares. Last Sunday he came and got it and it was a huge relief for me. I can go downstairs without being scared!

Now I have a new problem....the room is sooo bare. I think that I am going to take the chair out of the Oilers room to fill up some space.

Valentines Day

Yes...this is what I wanted to do for Valentines Day! It was very good and very scary. Shayne and I were squeezing each others hands so tightly that I am sure we had white nuckles...although he probably won't admit it!! The only bad thing about the movie was the two girls in front of us ( who were talking and laughing throughout the entire movie) and the loud chewing, pop moving distracting guy beside me! The other thing that Shayne did for me for V Day was BBQ. I was really craving a steak on the BBQ and all of the trimmings..so he stood in the -15 degrees just to cook it for me. All you heard from me was ummm and this is soo good! Thanks for everything Shayne!

The New Microwave

Finally we got the new microwave in. Shayne and I, as well as the house was in total disarray, so we just HAD to get it! We are very happy with this microwave as we got a great deal. It was normally $399.99 and we got it for $289.00. Who new that The Bay had such great deals on their appliances! I will for sure go there when we need any other big appliances. This microwave was not fun to install....right Shayne? He needed to drill new holes in the above cupboards and of course he needed to put a new bracket on. There are alot of holes behind this microwave now and I hope that we will not have to replace it for a long time.

Beautiful Winter Trees

When we were driving yesterday to do errands, we just had to pull over and take a picture of this little forest area beside our house. I love when the trees have this frost on them and it reminds me that winter is not that bad!

Fertility Gifts

Today I went to visit my long time friend Marzena ( who was a bridesmaid at our wedding). She has went through this whole IVF process and is pregnant with a little boy. She is due in less than two weeks and so she passed on her fertility secrets to me. The first one is a fertility rock that she carried with her since she officially started the IVF treatment. She carried this rock in her pocket, and if she did not have any pockets, she carried it in her bra. The second is this beautiful wooden elephant. She told me that each of these items were given to her and were symbols of fertility. She told me to place the elephant next to the bed. I am so appreciative of these gifts and I am sure that they will bring me luck. I hope to pass these along someday.

Goodbye Old Microwave

The other day I put some canned green and yellow beans in the microwave to heat up. As soon as I pushed start I heard this sort of pop noise. I wasn't sure what it was and after the 2 minutes, I took out the beans to find out that they are still cold. I tried another 2 minutes and sure enough, the microwave was broken. This microwave came with the house when we built it and so it of course did not have any extended warranty. They said that one part is covered for 5 years, but it does not include the labour. Shayne phoned a repair man and they would most likely charge $200.00 and they suggest that it just isn't worth it, so its goodbye old microwave!

The Charlie Brown Tree

Sooo, the Charlie Brown tree from Christmas is still alive and doing well with little to no light and very little care. I decided that if it can make it through my neglect, it is worth keeping. I have now transfered it to "the amazing pot growers" like the other plants and I am confident that it will do well. These pots will grow ANYTHING! All you need to do is put water in the base every 2-3 weeks depending on the plant. This is my type of pot! The plant that is above the microwave has been with us since the condo and it was only one stick with a few leaves. It never really grew much until I put it in the miracle pot. Then it got grew so much, and got so out of hand that it had to be moved out of the way! I wish that these self watering pots came in more variety and better material, because I would be willing to spend alot of money on them.
