Today I went to visit my long time friend Marzena ( who was a bridesmaid at our wedding). She has went through this whole IVF process and is pregnant with a little boy. She is due in less than two weeks and so she passed on her fertility secrets to me. The first one is a fertility rock that she carried with her since she officially started the IVF treatment. She carried this rock in her pocket, and if she did not have any pockets, she carried it in her bra. The second is this beautiful wooden elephant. She told me that each of these items were given to her and were symbols of fertility. She told me to place the elephant next to the bed. I am so appreciative of these gifts and I am sure that they will bring me luck. I hope to pass these along someday.Wednesday, February 11, 2009
