Quick Trip

On June 30 we had to take a quick overnight trip to Calgary for an ultrasound on July 1. I don't know why, but every hotel I stay in I have to take pictures of it. I guess it's because they would help me remember what the hotel was like if I wanted to stay there again. This is the hotel that we stayed in and I will be staying in the same hotel when I go for 2 weeks. One of my favorite part of this room was the bathroom sink. I would love to have this in my bathroom! This room also had a king size bed, a separate living room, 2 t.v.'s, a fridge, microwave and many other amenities. The hotel also had a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay near the Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
When you check in they give you a little scratch and win card. I took it back to our room, scratched it and we won $100.00! We were a little skeptical and thought that there was some sort of catch. We took it to the front desk and sure enough, we won $100.00. I don't know who was more excited, us or the cashier. Apparently she has given many away and has never seen a winner!
One other thing that I did not want to forget was the ride to and from Calgary. There was breaking news that Danny Heatly was going to be coming to the Oilers. I had to listen to sports radio for 3 hours on the way there and 3 hours on the way back. Of course whenever we were in the car for short distances we also had to listen to a sports station. I had my hockey fill for a very long time and the worst part of it all is that he did not even come to the Oilers!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful hotel. I like seeing where you stay and your reviews on the hotels and congrats on the win! That's awesome!

  2. It was a pretty decent price for how nice the hotel was. I wouldn't want that sink just because I would think the bottom would get dirty. It does look nice though. I was pretty shocked about the $100 for sure, I never win anything!

Sorry about all the hockey talk, July 1st (free agent day) is like Christmas eve for a hockey fan. The fact that Heatley was in play on top of everything made it even harder to not listen in. Thanks for putting up with it honey.

  3. Ohhh, this answers my question on Shayne's latest post, asking if you've been to Calgary recently.

Wooohooo about the winnings! I would have been skeptical at first too. :-)

Sounds like an AWESOME room! Seems like it would have been expensive.

Oh man, all that hockey talk would have driven me crazy. I would have had to wear ear plugs and listen to music or something.

It's nice to see you posting more pictures Sandy - I was wondering if your medication was making you too sick to be interested in taking pictures.

  4. Because I am a gov't employee, I got a great discount for the room and we only paid $110.00 for the night ( although we had to pay $20.00 for Tucker to stay on top of the regular fee).

Yes I did fall a little behind lately! We have just been so busy! It's not the medicine, I will explain on a upcoming post...

  5. $110?! WOW, that's amazing! The fact that you could even bring Tucker is well worth the $20 extra - not all places will allow dogs.

Good to hear it's not the medicine.
