On Wednesday we went to Calgary for a quick trip to the Fertility Clinic. We stayed the night and then we had appointments all day on Thursday, but of course we did get time to go to one of my top 3 restaurants. It is a Persian restaurant called Atlas and it serves my favorite dish chellow kabob ( kakob koobideh). My best friend is Iranian and I grew up with this food since I was twelve years old. Unfortunatly her family moved away from Edmonton and I don't get to have it anymore and the only Persian restaurant is in Calgary. AND...you have to eat it with a fork and spoon and a certain way, or it does not taste the same! We were sooo happy when we left!Friday, February 6, 2009
Top 3 Dinner
On Wednesday we went to Calgary for a quick trip to the Fertility Clinic. Darlene was asking in an earlier post about a remote control that eliminates multiple remotes. This is our remote control and it is the best thing since sliced bread! When I want to watch t.v. I just push activities and then push watch t.v. and it turns the cable box on, the surround sound, the t.v. and ensures that all of them are on the right input. Then the remotes does everything you want it to do for that particular activity. If I want to play xbox 360, I push that button and it does the right thing. Shayne has it hooked up for many different activities and it is sooo much easier for me. If for some reason it does not turn on the device properly, it even has help and will go through it with you!Big Crash
While I was posting my last blog on Tuesday, I heard this big crash. I of course did not know where it came from and I became very frightened. The dog started barking and so I do what I always do and sent him to find what is wrong. I always just ask him, " What was that? Go find it" and he will run around until he finds what is wrong. This particular time he stopped right in between the spare bedroom and the guest bathroom. I stood there for a second wondering if I should open the doors, afraid of what might be behind them. I took a deep breath and opened the bedroom door and...nothing. I checked the closet to make sure...and there was nothing there. So then I opened the bathroom door and found this!! All it was is the shower curtain rod fell down and broke! I was very thankful that it was only a rod and can easily be replaced. What would I do without Tucker?Tuesday, February 3, 2009
The Cold Beer Guy
.jpg)
This is the cold beer guy. We will always remember him because he does the Eskimos games as well. At the begining of the Oilers season his hair is very short and then it seems as though he does not cut it for the rest of the year. By the time the end of the Eskimos season hits, he has a big afro! He is very loud with his "cold beeeeeeerrrr" shout and one time I actually jumped in my seat because I wasn't aware that he was close. Today we actually heard him say that when his trays are full, he carries 72 beers! And he ALWAYS tells the customer the change that they are getting back in hopes for a tip. He usually does get a great tip because these men ( and 95% of the time they are men) don't want to seem cheap in front of hundreds of people that are around him. He probably makes a ton of money every game!
The Famous Cold Pop Guy

On Sunday we went to the game and we sat in the other seats. This is the first time that we sat in them and to our surprise they were fairly good seats. And....we got to see the cold pop guy!! He was selling cotton candy and we were trying sooooo hard not to laugh as he yelled, " GGGGet your cotton caaannndddyyyy"! He must just love his job because he always puts soooo much effort into his words and he always has a smile on his face. Tonight we are going to the game and I think I will try to get a picture of "the cold beer guy"!

Crazy Dog Eyes

I originally took this picture because I actually tired out Tucker with his ball. However, I am posting it here because I spent a fair amount of time researching how to fix his eyes. The red eye reduction on the camera doesn't work for him. I also tried to use the red eye reduction in one of those photoshop programs, but that didn't work either. The only way that I found how to do it is in photoshop using layers and drawing it in. This is just wayyyyy beyond me, so I was wondering if there are any simple ways to take care of this?
